Mushrooms are a great crop to include in your repertoir of home-grown produce. They can be grown at practically any time of year, including when other vegetables are not in-season, and they are a great nutrient dense crop which is rich in high quality protein and other nutritious compounds.
Easy ways to incorporate mushrooms into the home garden could include making mushroom grow logs or outdoor mushroom patches. Oyster mushrooms can also easily be grown on pasteurised straw.
