I've been given a bulb of perpetual leek which looks more like a giant garlic bulb than a walking onion (which I also have). The perpetual leek bulb grows small finger nail sized bulbils around the base.  If you haven't already found any, am happy to share a couple of bulbils with you. It appears to have the same clumping habit as walking onions.
