Species Specific Growing Information

This chapter will outline the specific requirements of different species and strains of fruit and vegetables. When to grow things, what soil they like, seed germination tips, nutrient requirements, sunlight preferences, etc.

  • Alliums: Onions, Spring Onions, Garlic, Leeks, Shallots, etc.
  • Brassicas: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Kale, Brussels Sprouts
  • Cucurbits: Pumpkins, Zucchini, Squash
  • Grains: Oats, quinoa, etc.
  • Heat Lovers: Tomatoes, Peppers, Corn, etc.
  • Leafy Greens: Lettuce, Spinach, Celery, Mustard, Rocket, Silver Beet, etc
  • Legumes: Peas and Beans
  • Perennials: Fruits, nuts, and other long-term plantings
  • Root Vegetables: Beetroot, carrots, parsnips, radishes, salsify, turnips, swedes etc.
